“Jesus teaches marriage is between one man and one woman for life.” That’s a core value in the human sexuality policy the Session adopted at their meeting Wednesday, January 16. The policy builds on previous statements adopted as part of the ongoing Presbyterian Church in Canada conversation on sexuality.

That affirmation about marriage reflects the unchanging truth God made people in His own image: “male and female he created them,” as it says in Genesis. Affirming this unchanging truth will have implications for MCPC’s ministry in areas like marriage preparation and leadership selection.

The Session invites people to a conversation at 7pm Thursday, January 24, about the policy and those implications.
